The Mexican framework, briefly
Mexico's health system regulates prescription medicines through the Ley General de Salud and COFEPRIS (the federal sanitary authority). Somatropin is a prescription product dispensed by pharmacies holding the appropriate sanitary registration and a designated responsable sanitario. Prescriptions must be issued by a physician holding a valid Mexican cédula profesional.
Private medical care is widely available in the Tijuana–Rosarito–Ensenada corridor, with many clinics and pharmacies serving an English-speaking patient population.
What you'll need
- A valid Mexican prescription issued by a physician licensed in Mexico. If you do not have one, your first step is a consultation with a qualified Mexican physician — we can refer you on request.
- Relevant medical records supporting your diagnosis (prior lab work, imaging, growth charts if pediatric). The prescribing physician will use these during evaluation.
- A Mexican delivery address. We ship within Mexico only. Patients who reside outside Mexico must have the medication received at an address inside Mexico.
- Government-issued ID at dispensing, consistent with standard Mexican pharmacy practice.
The typical care pathway
- Evaluation. The patient consults with a Mexican physician — in person at a Tijuana or Rosarito clinic, or via telemedicine where permitted. The physician reviews records, orders additional testing if needed, and makes a clinical judgment about whether somatropin therapy is indicated.
- Prescription. If appropriate, the physician issues a prescription on a receta médica in compliance with Mexican regulations.
- Order placement. The patient places an order at our affiliated pharmacy (hghmexico.mx), uploading the prescription and providing a Mexican delivery address.
- Pharmacy review. The pharmacy's responsable sanitario reviews the prescription and order before dispensing.
- Dispensing and delivery. The medication is dispensed and delivered to the patient's Mexican address, with cold-chain handling consistent with the product's storage requirements.
- Follow-up. The prescribing physician manages ongoing care — dose adjustments, monitoring, and refills.
Cost considerations
Medication prices vary by strength, formulation, and market conditions. Pricing information is available on our affiliated pharmacy's site. We do not publish comparative pricing versus any foreign market; patients should make their own assessment of value and suitability with their physician.
Cross-border considerations
Important for non-residents. We deliver only to addresses within Mexico. Patients are solely responsible for understanding the laws of their country of residence regarding the importation of prescription medicines — including, in some jurisdictions, specific restrictions on human growth hormone. Nothing on this site should be taken as advice to transport medication across any international border. Consult a qualified attorney or customs authority in your country if you have questions.
Where we operate
Our pharmacy is located in Playas de Rosarito, Baja California, on the Carretera Libre Tijuana–Ensenada, convenient to patients in the Tijuana metropolitan area and the surrounding coastal communities. Many English-speaking patients live in the area year-round or seasonally; others visit for consultations and pick-up or have orders delivered to their Mexican residence.
