Personal Importation Policy

Purchasing Norditropin® for Personal Use

At Norditropin.mx and FarmaLife, we are committed to helping families in the United States access affordable, high-quality medications while complying with all applicable laws and regulations.

Under current U.S. Customs and FDA guidelines, individuals are permitted to personally import certain medications from abroad for personal use, subject to specific conditions. Norditropin® pens purchased through FarmaLife comply with these guidelines when intended solely for personal medical use.

Legal Framework for Personal Importation

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), personal importation of medications is generally allowed under the following circumstances:

  • The medication is intended only for personal use (not for resale or commercial distribution).
  • The quantity does not exceed a 90-day supply.
  • There is a valid prescription from a licensed healthcare provider.
  • The medication does not represent an unreasonable risk.
  • The purchase supports the continuation of a necessary medical therapy.

Parents or legal guardians may purchase and transport Norditropin® on behalf of a child who has a valid prescription.

An adult may also personally transport medication for another patient (such as a spouse, dependent, or family member), provided they have the patient's valid prescription and documentation at the time of entry.

Important:

  • Norditropin® requires a valid prescription issued by a licensed healthcare provider in the United States.
  • Importing more than a 90-day supply is not advised and may result in seizure by U.S. authorities.
  • Medications must be transported personally by the patient, a parent/guardian, or an authorized adult carrying the medication for the patient — not shipped separately as a commercial import.

How to Purchase Safely

  1. Obtain a Valid Prescription:
A valid prescription must be provided. If purchasing for someone else, the prescription must be in that patient's name.
  2. Place Your Order with FarmaLife:
Submit the prescription and order up to a 90-day supply of Norditropin® 10mg or 15mg pens through our licensed pharmacy, FarmaLife.
  3. Transport the Medication Personally:
Carry the medication in your personal luggage along with a copy of the prescription and purchase receipt.
If you are transporting for another person (child or adult), you must have the documentation proving the medication is for that patient's personal use.
  4. Declare at Customs if Asked:
If questioned by U.S. Customs, state clearly that the medication is for personal use (for yourself or for the prescribed patient), not for resale, and that you are carrying no more than a 90-day supply with valid prescription documentation.

Documentation Recommended

We recommend carrying:

  • Original prescription (showing the patient's name)
  • Purchase receipt from FarmaLife
  • Original pharmacy packaging clearly labeled with the patient’s name

Bringing these documents can help ensure a smooth and lawful return to the United States.

Disclaimer

While the FDA has issued guidance regarding personal importation, the final decision rests with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the point of entry.
